800 BALAS / 800 BULLETS A poster designed to accompany the film "800 Balas," define it symbolically and iconographically. To do the job, Marine traveled with the film director and his film crew to the deserts of Algeria to immerse himself in this 21st century Western and to absorb the fullness of memories, anecdotes and experiences that it offered. Oscar Marine's story runs parallel with what was called 'La Movida' in Madrid during the 1980s. It was a movement of urban agitation during which his personal conception of design bred adventures such as the alternative magazine, "Madrid Me Mata" (Madrid Kills Me). An urban style and experience transported to New York City, where he was an artist for one of Absolut Vodka's advertising campaigns. Monica Sanchez |
